Ideas for Akiko:
Akiko hasn't been very forthcoming when asked for her list unfortunately. I saw her eyeballing earrings with a matching pendant at the mall. She also looked at a board game called "Catan Histories: Settlers of America" (we like to play board games at home. I always win), and the Wii fitness board bundle. Specifically she asked for PJ's (size S, she's a dress size 2 if that helps). Since Squeaky does all the cooking, kitchen 'stuff' is always good. I know we need a sugar jar. Also, I can tell you a gift certificate at Express, Victoria's Secret (or other "mall" store, yick!) goes a long way with her.
My idea list is a little more formalized:
- Shirts and pants for work or casual (pants size is ~ 31x31)
- I've been running again and could use some running shorts and maybe one "fit" (pants/jacket combo).
- It is supposed to to continue being a cold winter in Seattle this time around so a couple pairs of running gloves and a pair of driving gloves would be helpful. Tater peed on my last pair and I tossed them.
- A pair of 'professional headphones' (the "puffy kind," being used for a digital piano) and also in-ear iPhone headphones. (Akiko took the first pair I bought). They are both 1/8" jack connections.
- A book (non-kindle) called "See Stok Run." Also for half-work / half-self-interest I want to learn rudimentary electronics (like this, but even better if it comes with a starter kit)
- A kindle or iTunes gift card.
- Something a little "bigger ticket" for Akiko and I, we've been looking at getting a little camcorder. We have a digi camera but it doesn't do well at all with video. Something that's small and shoots HD would be cool, and the "flip" ones have made video pretty cheap considering what they used to cost.
'Tis the season to sing to the almighty Christmas consumerism gods (where even the Christmas carols sound better than the "real thing").
